Mike White is swapping tropical chaos for coastal chic—with a luxe Four Seasons resort as the perfect backdrop.

Italy, Hawaii, Thailand, the globetrotting White Lotus anthology is packing its bags again. For season four, the Emmy winning HBO series is reportedly setting up shop in France. The selected properties include the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat on the Riviera, the Megève in the Alps, or the glam Hotel George V in Paris. While nothing is final, all signs point to France retaining the series’ tradition of hyper luxurious drama housed in Four Seasons resorts.

Creator Mike White has hinted he wants to shift away from surf-and-rock visuals, and production schemes suggest a warmer, yet fresh, European aesthetic. Riviera meets alps meets city, they each offer new visual currency. Though the Alps whisper suspense, White’s well known dislike for cold weather makes the Riviera the frontrunner.

Filming is expected to begin in 2026, building on a partnership between HBO and Four Seasons that’s already a cultural fixture. Whether it’s sea views or city chic, France promises the same sharp satire and luxurious tension fans have come to love.
France brings old school excess, cinematic decay, and whispered scandals draped in designer towels. It’s a move that reaffirms the anthology’s ethos: riches don’t protect you from horror, and paradise is often the last place you’d expect to disappear.
