When Southern California was swallowed by wildfires earlier this year, Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Foundation showed up for the people. The foundation has now distributed over $3 million in direct aid to victims of the devastating Eaton Fire and surrounding blazes.
Her original pledge was $2.5 million in January, targeted families displaced in Altadena and Pasadena, as well as local churches and community centers stepping up first-responder efforts. Since then, BeyGOOD has helped over 200 homeowners and renters rebuild, handed out essentials, offered wellness days, and even gifted tickets to Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour, because healing often includes resuscitating joy.

The fires scorched more than 14,000 acres, destroyed thousands of homes, and claimed at least 17 lives, leaving many communities under threat of gentrification during recovery. Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, lost her Malibu home in the blaze, making this aid personal and not only philanthropic.
Beyoncé leaning into her power and resources to support communities that are too often erased after disaster. While Hollywood raised millions via FireAid, Beyoncé’s direct approach stands out for its accountability and actual impact.
