Producer keeps it real. He’s a passive investor, he’s learned lessons, and he’s not losing his bond with Usher.

R&B heavyweight Bryan-Michael Cox is speaking out after Usher sued him and business partners over a failed Atlanta restaurant deal. Usher claims he lent $1.7 million toward a Buckhead property for a lounge called “Homage ATL,” but only got $1 million back, now he’s chasing the remaining $700,000 plus damages.
Cox, however, isn’t taking the fall. He says he was only a passive minority shareholder in the company tied to the project. He adds that he didn’t orchestrate the deal, and while things went south, he believes the truth will come out.
He also emphasized that his four-decade friendship with Usher remains fully intact. In the process, Cox admitted the whole ordeal taught him something valuable: even “small” business moves with friends deserve serious caution.
Cox is standing firm, unafraid to own his part while asserting that his name and his legacy will be cleared.
