Snoop Dogg Bounces Back! Drops “Love Is Love” to Back LGBTQ+ Youth

After backlash over Lightyear comments, the Doggfather leans into inclusion with a children’s song celebrating all kinds of families

Snoop Dogg just flipped the script. A few months after sparking controversy over remarks about LGBTQ+ characters in the film Lightyear, the rap icon teamed up with GLAAD and artist Jeremy Beloate to release a new children’s track titled “Love Is Love.” The song appears on an episode of his animated series Doggyland and celebrates diverse family structures, including same-sex parents.

In the Doggyland episode, characters sing lines like “Our parents are different … But the one thing that’s for certain is the love won’t change.” The visual storytelling is clear: families come in many forms, and love is the constant. Snoop voices a mentor character in the episode and frames the song as a bridge toward understanding and acceptance.

He admits he doesn’t reference his earlier remarks directly in this move, but the shift is telling. He said the song is “teaching parenthood” and helping kids process questions about what families look like — “love is the key,” he says.

“Love Is Love” lands on Spirit Day, an annual day to support LGBTQ+ youth and speak out against bullying, making the timing more than symbolic. His collaboration with GLAAD highlights a public pivot toward advocacy, especially after the Lightyear uproar reignited debate over representation.

This is more than a PR move. It’s acknowledgment. It’s growth. Whether critics stay skeptical or admit the shift is genuine, Snoop just dropped a creative and caring volley in culture wars. Now he’s staking a claim: love is loud, love is patient, and love includes everyone.
