Boxing champ Gervonta “Tank” Davis is undefeated in the ring but outside of it, his track record is painfully bruised. Arrested again on July 11 for allegedly assaulting his ex/mother of his children. According to The Guardian, Davis was accused of hitting her in the head, slapping her face, and even hurling a small box at her over a Father’s Day custody exchange. Police say this latest incident adds to at least 10 previous alleged abuses during their relationship .
Let’s be blunt: this isn’t just “celebs behaving badly.” It’s a dangerous pattern. Davis’s past isn’t squeaky clean; 2020 brought an alarming incident involving the mother of one of his children, and again in December 2022 . Every time the cameras stop rolling, the silence screams louder.

Domestic violence among famous couples isn’t new, but the frequency of these high-profile arrests says a lot about our culture’s failure to hold men accountable. They’re protected by fame, forgiven because of talent, and exonerated by PR teams faster than their next paycheck hits.
Enough is enough. Championing mental health is great but real healing won’t happen until we stop celebrating abusers and start listening to survivors. When big names like Davis face consequences, it forces the industry to evolve and not sweep the mess under the red carpet.
To fans: loving someone’s art shouldn’t mean excusing atrocity. To celebs: your fame doesn’t grant impunity. And to the media: stop normalizing violence as “hot mess behavior.” Highlight the pattern. Demand accountability. Don’t just report influence. Because domestic violence isn’t entertainment. And fame shouldn’t mean you get to fight real-life charges only in the media.
