Queen Latifah Isn’t Sweating Menopause, She’s Owning It

Queen Latifah just flipped the menopause script from hush hush to take-charge realness. At 55, she’s stepping into the spotlight as the face of the brand new WeightWatchers for Menopause program. And she is not holding back.

Latifah says she was blindsided when her doctor dropped the “M-word” on her during what she thought was a totally normal checkup. She didn’t notice any dramatic hot flashes. But that stubborn extra ten pounds sticking around and her mild fussing over car temperature suddenly clicked. That’s when she realized she was in pre-menopause. Once she saw those lab numbers she tuned into her body like never before and the surprise flipped to empowerment.

Cue WeightWatchers, emerging from bankruptcy in June 2025 with a fight back plan that’s flashy, sassy and smart. They launched a menopause focused campaign with GLP-1 drugs, hormone therapy support, telehealth access, personalized macros and menopause trained coaches. And they did it with Queen Latifah front and center using an ad that asks, “Is it hot in here?” then answers with a laugh, “Nah, girl, it’s just the menopause.” They are rewriting health ads as we know them.

Latifah is pushing facts and stripping away stigma. She reminds women that knowledge, sleep, movement and a solid support squad matter. She’s not whispering about midlife. She’s owning it.
