Lights, Camera, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You: A$AP Rocky’s Surreal A24 Moment

Hold up! Harlem’s high-fashion rapper is back on the screen, and he’s hosting way more than just a mood. In the newly released trailer for A24’s psychological dramedy If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, A$AP Rocky steps into uncharted territory as James, the motel superintendent with charm and cryptic allure. It’s cinematic electricity.

Directed, written, and executive produced by Mary Bronstein, the film stars Rose Byrne as Linda, a psychotherapist navigating the unraveling of her world: her child’s mysterious illness, a collapsing home, and a strained relationship with her therapist, played by Conan O’Brien. Tense, grounded, and suspiciously bizarre, the trailer sees Rocky’s James turning up right at the tipping point, offering Linda access to mysterious “things” with that signature wink.

Rocky’s really stacking the deck this year. He’s not only casting shades in this surreal A24 flick, but also sharing screens with Denzel in Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, dropping Aug. 15. And yeah, his long-anticipated album Don’t Be Dumb still waits in the wings.
